So, Tuesday, I start a whole new career, having finally given up teaching. There are a lot of small things I'm looking forward to: actual lunch breaks, the ability to go to the bathroom when I please, finishing my workday without feeling like a wrung-out dishrag, finishing sentences on the first try. It's a whole new world, guys! #myjourney #leavingteaching
@Kbc Thanks. It still feels a little unreal to consider that I won't be back at school on Tuesday. I've been a teacher for 27 years. But, there's also this tremendous sense of relief that reminds me of what I felt like when my divorce from my first husband became final.
@Samanthabwriter Best wishes!
@Samanthabwriter Congratulations. I retired several years ago to take care of my parents. Now I tutor. I think about what things have been like in schools in the past 2.5 years. If I had been active, I definitely would have found the door as well. Good luck to you in your new endeavor.🍀
@Samanthabwriter You've gotta do what's right for you. Best wishes in your next endeavor! Teaching requires the kind of soft skills that businesses tell me (a mgmt consultant) that they desperately need.
@SubSDeviation As of tomorrow, I’m in content creation for a big financial company. Here’s hoping it’s a good fit.
@Samanthabwriter Outstanding. All the best. And if it is NOT a good fit? You'll find something that is. Teaching skills/competencies are VERY transferable.
@SubSDeviation @Samanthabwriter Best of luck in the new role! They're lucky to have you.
@Samanthabwriter Teaching is too hard anymore. I did it for 17 years and left to be a school counselor. So much happier now. Congrats and good luck on your new journey.
