It was inevitable but no less jarring to hear extended family members conclude that a couple of days of cold weather disproves global warming.
We had water in the last hard freeze for the first couple of days. Only then did we have a pipe in the garage break*. But those pipes are now insulated after being fixed.
*Everyone lost water for a while. When it came back we woke up to a waterfall in our garage.
Crap, no water this morning.
SWMBO decided she wanted to shut off the water entirely for the hard freeze (as opposed to slow drip everywhere with open cabinets.)
Woke up to turn the water back on - nada. If we get it back I am going back to keeping it moving rather than shut it off.

The wealth disparity across class isn't a secret to many who have paid attention. Kids of wealthy Boomers and Gen X will remain wealthy.
That class part is well known. The inability to acquire wealth you don't inherit is the generational issue.
I read the article. Coincidentally some anecdotes bring up the issue of Boomer wealth being consumed by medical expenses.
"The big picture" would include class perspective and the difficulty to acquire (uninherited) wealth of Gen Z.
Fantasy is an exercise bicycle for the mind. It might not take you anywhere, but it tones up the muscles that can. Of course, I could be wrong.

TL;DR. Rates of accidents per miles driven causing injury and those causing fatality starts to increase after 70....but it doesn't surpass the rates of drivers under 30 until over 80!!!
Really, I think people should have to keep passing driving tests throughout, like every other renewal.
Ran across a proposal to require drivers over the age of 70 to take periodic driving tests. Knowing several adult children who struggled to convince aging parents to stop driving, it seemed reasonable. BUT...
