Candace Owens fired by Ben Shapiro news had me searching for where the fallout started.

Shapiro was fine with the majority of her hate speech when targeted to people he opposed. But the anti-Semitic turn recently was too much.

Once again, right wingers only seem to become aware of how toxic their positions are when they feel personally affected.

Don't worry. It won't be an epiphany for Shapiro to reconsider all the ways his own views are just as bad for other groups.

One of their "recommendations" is Reboot, a series about Hulu rebooting a hit family comedy from early 2000s. It had one of the creators of Modern Family behind it and was similar to 30 Rock in being a comedy about behind-the-scenes Hollywood.
The cast was great, writing was great. But I had forgotten about it since 2022. I thought "Season 2 must be out finally" but it wasn't. Looked it up only to find it was canceled by Hulu. 🤬

I started it but I haven't mustered the courage yet given the subject thw atrocities committed by average people in Nazi Germany. These weren't true believers in a demented ideology as much as regular people who yielded to group pressure.

That's the part that scares me.

"News" accounts on IG just repeat the hottest rumor with zero vetting. People say "I read it from three sources" without considering they just copied each other and a leap of logic from legit reporting of her using a male alias at times.
Her mental problems have been reported amd evident as a danger FOR A LONG TIME. Yet, no help, for her or the people she threatened. And no problem buying lots of guns either. (Thank Abbott for that one.)

The actual shooting at Osteen's service is less disturbing than the spin immediately started on social media.
The anti-trans people just RAN with the idea the shooter was transgender. Turned out to be wrong, but who cares? The mental issues were the driver.
Then they try to make sense out of the motivations of someone who clearly wasn't thinking clearly. "Free Palestine" at a mega-church?
Then there is the crowd claiming "false flag" and it is a Dem operation to justify more gun control.

Anyone else watching/watched Extraordinary on Hulu?

Really weird and unique. Everyone gets a superpower at 18, but most are weird powers. The central character is the only one she knows who is a " late bloomer" at 25 with no powers.

The story reminds me a bit of A Spell for Chameleon by Piers Anthony, except there it was magic everywhere except Bink. Except this series is played more for comedy.
