@Tacitus_Kilgore @LnzyHou @AskTheDevil They need to go the way of the Federalists, the Whigs, every failed political party.

Democrats probably need to split into formal recognition of the internal factions. Maybe the leftover Pubs can join with moderate Dems?

We need more than two viable parties, but until our elections themselves change so third parties are more than just spoilers, we are doomed to the duopoly.

@LnzyHou @Tacitus_Kilgore @AskTheDevil
Agreed.

Trump was the symptom, not the disease. It is naive to believe GOP reverts after Trump. Biden lost the beginning of his term to the naive hope all the Pubs he remembered from the Senate would suddenly revert after 2020.

"Normal" GOP was over when McConnell flatly refused to even consider voting on Merrick Garland.

Noms are gone forever

@Tacitus_Kilgore @AskTheDevil Where is this noble "they" in the GOP now? Are they in hiding, in a bunker?

Everyone with a spine has left. Nothing left but extremists and gutless suckups (Kevin McCarthy, Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz and their ilk)

@Alfred Do you have access to the internet? Why can't you answer this question?

@Alfred Don't guess at what it "might" be. What is the specific government DoD project Kona Blue?

@Alfred It refers to something specific, a government project. Try again.

@Alfred No, it has nothing to do with the color. Try again.

She seemed genuinely conflicted, particularly about the GOP record on women's rights. I wonder if she isn't a GOP volunteer out of reflex in AZ

Visited today by someone hanging door tags for Ted Cruz. It is garage sale weekend so we were out.

We declined and she asked why, answered politely but candidly.and she said, "Yeah, I am hearing a lot of that."

She talked for a while and said she was brought in from Arizona and wasn't familiar with Cruz, blah, blah, blah

Why do you think they can't find local volunteers for Cruz? ;-)

We didn't let her off easy. I let her know AZ candidate for Senate was pretty toxic as well

@LnzyHou Oy!

Makes sense but I would never think about it.

Too lazy and too cheap to decorate. Maybe buy actual spiders and set them loose in your yard? Watch people freak out walking into actual webs.

Just checked out of curiosity. You can buy a dozen juvenile cellar spiders for about $20 online

@Lizzz @cassandra17lina * The whole host of reasons is studies show most will self-report the amount they tip is driven by quality of service they get. Yet those studies show in controlled tests, service quality is the least driver of how people actually tip. Real drivers are race and sex (of the server and the customer), attractiveness, how much they touch you, whether they squat by the table, etc.

Quality of service was purposely manipulated in the tests and it didn't change the amounts,

@Lizzz @cassandra17lina Agree we need wage reform and tipping as part of expected compensation is bad for a whole host of reasons. *

BUT, "they need to find other work" reflects some privilege in that for many no other work is available. And I can't in good conscience refuse to pay for a service I used.

Consider that percentage is just going to be tacked onto your bill if they did pay more. So, if you can't afford to pay for your service....

@LnzyHou @elbutterfield That was then, this is now.

They have been promoting early voting, but Trump has been gumming up the effort.
