It's perfectly okay to think Biden is too old to run again all while being anti-GOP/anti-hardcore conservative. I'm much more in favor of younger politicians who I feel are more in touch with the needs of today, while the older generation I often feel get caught up in the needs of yesterday.

@Stevo

So you think folks over a certain age are caught up in the needs of yesterday?

In a way you are correct because of Roe vs wade. Almost 50 years of not having to worry about a personal medical issue.

What other needs of yesterday? While Biden is not AOC ( who I adore ) I don't see regressive policy happening with his approval.

@KazzyH @Stevo i think they are often caught up in the politics of yesterday. It took Biden a long time to admit the GOP wouldn't just revert to what he remembered from the Senate once TFG was gone.

But it matters less what individuals think than the voting public. The majority aren't thrilled with either of our likely two options. Dems better not be putting all the eggs in the we probably can beat Trump basket.

@S_r_stone @Stevo

How do you know that the " majority " are not thrilled with the two likely options?

To be fair it seems it's been that way for a while now although I was really happy/ pumped about Obama.

@KazzyH @Stevo Polling. It isn't close enough to write off to polling error either.

Unfortunately the majority don't seem to understand nuance of things like grading on a curve for inflation (it's global, not U.S. only.) Most simply vote on the vibe of "feeling" better or worse off.

@KazzyH @Stevo I am pessimistic about turnout by experience. Pubs ALWAYS turnout. It seems to take impending disaster to get many Dems to bother to show up.

I SEE that impending disaster. But I think most ignore the news and just know things still cost too much.

Gen Z, you are our only hope.

@S_r_stone @Stevo

I live in a state where 75% of the voters turn out.

36% of our youth voted in the mid-terms down a bit from 2018 like 06% or some such. Tiny but again on the higher side nation wide.

I also look at special elections.

Please dont ask me to explain Susan " learned his lesson " Collins.

I guess I'm more of an optimist

@KazzyH @Stevo When I first learned some nations have mandatory voting , like Oz, I thought it was stupid and just encouraged uninformed people to vote.

I have come around. The uninformed vote anyway. Better to force engagement and disrupt the privileged who reason "I'll be okay either way" and have the nerve to be surprised when motivated morons rule.

@S_r_stone @Stevo

Ya I was looking at the Harris county takeover ( board of elections ) jfc.

Paxton ....😳😵‍💫

@KazzyH @Stevo OTOH, there's this...all the people working as hard to change TX as they are to suppress the votes they don't like.

Texas, USA
Movie available for rent on Apple+. It is supposed to be available on Prime Video and Google Play as well but I couldn't find it yet.
