It doesn't need to be personal to matter but this is personal.
All of the backlash against DEI hurts our son and people like our son.
From a business point of view, I oppose social engineering in the workplace. But it's here and I'm opposed to eliminating it.
Those who are passionate about eliminating it are bigots living out loud.

I work in a place that has DEI initiatives. It's a complex issue affecting many different groups, and I don't believe it is social engineering. It's an effort to make work more merit-based and for people to understand and see past unconscious biases that have harmed others and continue to harm others who would be able to make valuable contributions if they weren't marginalized in some way.
Of course, try boiling that down to a campaign slogan. 🙄 🤷 😂 What are you gonna do.
Honestly, the various DEI initiatives I've been exposed to at work have taught me a lot about myself and others, and I think they're misrepresented by politicians. Some companies may do things differently than others, however. I'm really grateful I get to learn about other groups. It makes us work better as a team. Does that sound like corporate BS? It may, but it's true, I mean it.
