They tell you that Jenin is a "refugee camp".
There is a neighborhood in Jenin that used to be a refugee camp, back in the 1960's-70's. But now it's just another neighborhood in the city. It has paved streets, multi-story modern buildings, power and water (both provided by Israel). It has both cable and a plethora of satellite dishes. It has a number of new car dealers including Kia, Skoda, and Sputnik.
It's a city, like many other cities in the Middle East.
They said the exact same things about Menachem Begin and Ariel Sharon, because they say the exact same things about every Israeli leader. Even the ones who trade land for peace that never comes.
@Render Neither Begin nor Sharon shook my faith in Israel. For Begin, quite the opposite. Sharon....? At least I'd trade him for Netanyahu in a heartbeat, had I the power.
But I realize you and I disagree, and I value what you write, and I don't know if perhaps you tire of the same old complaints. Maybe I should be quiet.
