I always called Miles Davis, "Baby", when it came to his music. If I was feeling down, angered, or fearful, all I had to do was put on something he recorded, lay back, & just say, "Soothe me Baby, soothe me.", borrowing the lyric from the Sam & Dave song of the same name.

With its fast start & slow down near the end, "Milestones" was one of those tunes that soothed me as I smoked a cigarette & had a cup of tea before bedtime.

I had never heard "Something's On Your Mind" by D Train until I heard Miles Davis' cover, then a friend of mine in college recognized the song and had no idea Miles had covered it. I told him I didn't know it was cover, he told me it was from D Train, I told him I never heard D Train's version & he was shocked.

We went back to his apartment where he dug out his old D Train vinyl & played it for me.
