Rev. Jim Bakker made the mistake in putting the trust of the PTL club in his hands, only to have Falwell stab him in the back.

Falwell was also famous for suing & being countersued by Larry Flynt, over a joke ad in Hustler Magazine.

The televangelist came into popularity in the 70s & 80s until a scandal involving fraud & an affair in 1987 put his fire out.

After serving time, he reformed the PTL club & returned to Televangelism in 2003, shifting his focus from prosperity gospel to End Times theology & began hawking survival food, gear, & snake oil while claiming "God" speaks to him.

I guess prison drove him crazy & he learned nothing.

Alex Jones. While not active in the 80s as part of the Panic, he grew up in it, & as his fanbase grew with popularity after 9/11, not only did he start preaching about "Inside Jobs", NWO, conspiracy theories, the Illuminati, and hawking fake cures, supplements, survival equipment & food, but he also rehashed a lot of old & debunked Satanic Panic claims, such as D&D leading to The Occult.

Talk about someone who can't keep his mouth shut. BITCH BETTER HAVE THEIR MONEY!

80s Satanic Panic Spotlight:

Jack T. Chick, a comic book writer who later became best-known for his "Chick Tracts", mini-comic books that contained anti-Semitic, anti-Islam, anti-LGBT, anti-Occult, & "Fire and Brimstone" style narratives with an "Us & Them" mentality.

His anti-D&D tract "Dark Dungeons" is considered a cult classic by RPGers & was adapted into a fan film by RPGers & I quite enjoyed it. It didn't seem like Pure Flix crap & made fun of the Satanic Panic.
