Satanic Panic Spotlight:

Rev. Jim Bakker. Founder of the PTL club & network.

The televangelist came into popularity in the 70s & 80s until a scandal involving fraud & an affair in 1987 put his fire out.

After serving time, he reformed the PTL club & returned to Televangelism in 2003, shifting his focus from prosperity gospel to End Times theology & began hawking survival food, gear, & snake oil while claiming "God" speaks to him.

I guess prison drove him crazy & he learned nothing.

@RavenCutrereULC my father was a big believer in all those 80's preachers. we didn't have anything to eat for school but hey, he gave all his $$ to have our souls saved.

i will never forgive any of those charlatans for taking advantage of peeps. they are all evil no matter what they are preaching.

motherfuckers.

@singlemaltgirl Both of my grandmothers particularly loved Oral Roberts, but not my maternal grandfather as he was a Freemason.

My paternal grandfather was Christian, but wasn't a fanatic, and he and I would listen to his blue comedy albums by Redd Foxx, Lawanda Page, & Rudy Ray Moore.

My mother was Christian, but allowed me to practice Paganism, & was supportive of me when I came out as Transgender. She and I would listen to her old Brother Dave Gardner albums.
