The Rs have, of course, just moved on to "Weiss is part of the conspiracy so this is actually the ultimate conspiracy move!" Because of course they have.
The media will desperately enjoy every second of "Hunter drama" and will be thrilled beyond belief that he will apparently go to trial.
But at the same time Weiss's elevation to special counsel just blew up almost every R conspiracy theory about the supposed political protection of Hunter.
And Weiss must now ultimately file a report explaining what he did NOT decide to charge. The transparency will further erode the conspiracy theories.
So, on balance, I'd say "good."
Gee, Tesla is failing to protect the data security of its customers.
But sure, everyone will want to entrust their entire banking life and all their money to "X."
The Baltimore Orioles' unexpected surge this season is great, and very good for baseball.

Of course. Now that Rupert's choice, DeSantis, has definitively burned out, Fox has gone groveling back to Trump. Because that's where their viewers are, and profit is all that matters. Now their priority is to get #Trump to appear in their debate, because otherwise their cult audience won't watch and they won't make money off it.
I really don't think Marco is this stupid, but he is this corrupt.
Trump didn't just SAY he thought the election was stolen, he actively conspired to stage a coup.
No "Democrat politicians" fought to prevent #Trump taking office in 2017. (And Russia did interfere in the election. Few claimed Russia hacked the actual vote tallies. That was never a mainstream position.)
I support use of the death penalty only in a very limited number of particularly egregious cases where guilt is beyond doubt. (I also support a national moratorium on executions because the death penalty is so often used as a racial weapon, but that's a separate issue.)
This is one of the rare cases where I do believe the death penalty is appropriate.
There is no free speech right to subvert the election, and attempting a coup is not "political advocacy."
This is like saying "Charging my client with murder violates his right to believe the victim deserved to die!"
#Trump's lawyers are vowing to use the trial to "relitigate" every right-wing lie about the 2020 election.
They say that as if it's a cunning threat that will make Smith tremble.
It's hard to think of a worse 'strategy.'
I would also expect the judge will block most of their attempts to introduce such drivel.
I strongly suspect Jeff Clark will be the next to be indicted. Smith all but said the unindicted co-conspirators will follow in due course, but clearly he didn't want to slow down the main prosecution of #Trump.
Clark was openly calling for a military coup.
