@LiberalLibrarian I suspect Miller or someone like him feeds these just-short evasions to him. Like substituting "Peekaboo" for the actual slur his cult use for Tish James on TFG's social media site.
@nopuppet_007 The headline is only interested in promoting THE NARRATIVE.
The article may be better. They often are. But I don't want to dignify that headline with a click.
Remember when #Trump ranted that he shouldn't have to help CA after its wildfires because the state didn't vote for him?
Because I do.
Meanwhile Joe has been taking aggressive *action* for HI.
Rs are such sick hypocrites it's hard to fathom.
@LiberalLibrarian Employers should know not to belittle valuable employees in a seller's market.
@ChristopherNoyesRoberts I'm inclined to agree, particularly since the midterms, where the media ceaselessly told voters "you don't care about democracy or lunacy, you only care about inflation and therefore want Rs!" and voters responded "um... no."
Of course the media (which doesn't deny the truth in the charges against Trump) still wants a horserace, hence things like trying to elevate Hunter to parallel "scandal" status and notions like "Trump indictment fatigue."
@ChristopherNoyesRoberts Hence their panicked threats to impeach the new WI justice who won by 11 points if she dares strike down their gerrymander - which gives them about 75% of state seats with under 55% of the vote.
@Lucky188 Smith will clearly do as much as he thinks he could win with in court. We'll see what that ends up being. He obviously wanted to get Trump charged first for reasons of speed, but the grand jury is still going for now.
@ChristopherNoyesRoberts One major mercy is that computerized voting systems without a voter-checked paper receipt are nearly gone. There's pretty much always a recountable record now. Though there was a period where that wasn't the case in too many jurisdictions.
@Lucky188 Many legal analysts thought his call was too vague to hold up as a charge. I'm inclined to agree. I think he'd have been acquitted if charged, and clearly the DA thought so.
@LaurasBerkshire I doubted he would be. His call was too nebulous to make an effective charge. I think he would have been acquitted if indicted.
@ChristopherNoyesRoberts "The voters should decide as long as Rs get to decide which votes are actually counted!"
By Lindsey Lickspittle's "logic," #Trump literally could shoot someone on 5th Avenue without consequences. "LIBERAL NYC can't charge a REPUBLICAN! The voters should decide if he was right or wrong to shoot the guy! You're violating his first amendment right to say the guy should be dead! WEAPONIZATION!"
@LiberalLibrarian Why, I'm shocked! Shocked!
@SentinelOfTruth Let's just say that, by all the evidence, there's a lot more Trump fatigue out there than Trump indictment fatigue.
Kevin McCarthy's raging conspiracy theory-laden rant blaming Biden for a vast plot against his glorious (criminal) master is only missing "HEIL #TRUMP!!!" Why doesn't he just say it? It's what he means, and his target audience would love it.
I mean, what an outrage that prosecutors are saying exactly what Kevin himself briefly said before re-collapsing to the cult and running to Mar-il-legal to prostrate himself and beg forgiveness.
@SentinelOfTruth They're desperately hoping it will get them to absolute and permanent dictatorial power through "backlash" and "Trump indictment fatigue" (in which they have a certain degree of help from mainstream media still desperate for a horse race, even as they admit the truth of the indictments).
Of course they tried that in 2022, and look what happened. And the reaction to Dobbs has given a taste of what happens when they try to rule against modern reality.
The introduction to the 4th #Trump indictment gets the point out with admirable clarity and directness.
TFG and 18 others charged. A 98 page indictment detailing huge and deliberate criminal actions. Every indictment sought by the DA supported by the grand jury.
And Rs are screaming that indicting their cult leader is "an attack on the rule of law." Of course they are. Everyone knows the rule of law means letting their guy stage a coup without consequences.
Center-left academic type. Generally pissed about the state of the world but I know none of our endless crises are actually new because I'm a historian.
