Gee, the public is even more sour than before on the R House, sees it as interested only in power and stunts, hates its policy priorities, and would blame it for dysfunction.

Pity that didn't stop it winning in the first place (Rs did narrowly win the House popular vote... it wasn't just gerrymandering; though they won by much less than normal in a midterm). But Rs better watch their political backsides.

@RationalLeft It would be great to see the R's lose after the shit show in the House, but I fear that the uneducated RepubliKKKan voter won't care and will still vote for those idiots because Fox, OANN, Newsmax, and Facebook told them to do so for fear of the D's ruining things. Fear and projection are the only tools they have, but they seem to be effective. D's just never get out in large enough numbers to turn the tide against mass stupidity.

@Gord02 We nearly held the House in a cycle where history and the fundamentals pointed to massive R gains. We won a House landslide in 2018. Rs can and do lose.

@RationalLeft Rs do lose, but not by nearly enough. If this country is to have any progress in the future, they must lose big in 2024, but I have my doubts. The Rs make it a point to keep their voters dumb and depend on them being stuck on stupid, and it generally pays off. Ds have always had a messaging problem. I hope someday Ds learn how to play the game so these elections can stop being so damn close.
