the only reason dems lost the house was gerrymandering
8 red seats were created, 3 blue seats eliminated
5 were judged as being against the voters act but the states refused to change them
if the courts orders had been followed, the dems would still be in control
this is why the taliban 20 has power - their districts are so gerrymandered no dem could ever win
@CdnChrisCo All of that is true... although there's been overall improvement on gerrymandering. Rs narrowly won the national House popular vote. In the past that would have given them a large majority.
Also, in '24 Rs will be defending 18 seats in Biden-won districts while Ds defend only 5 seats in Trump-won districts.
if the john lewis act was enacted, it would all be moot within 10 years
or if scotus was expanded to 13
both of which are pipe dreams in todays tribal environment
@CdnChrisCo For now, yes. But the midterms showed that the Rs are digging themselves into a pit with swing voters and young voters.
@CdnChrisCo Yes, I get that you demand fatalistic despair and deny that anything is possible but disaster.
Since that is both false and actively counterproductive, I couldn't be less interested and have now muted you. Enjoy your eternal doom without me.
