My oldest tested positive for COVID today... She's on plaquinelle for LUPUS. So far she has chills and a cough, but it appears she's had it for a while, thursday she had a sore throat and was a little warm.

@CajunBlueAZ1 Thanks Blue, I hope so too. Her doc will give her something tomorrow, but I don't think it's something you can prescribe away. She locked herself in her place, and will order delivery to the door for a few days.

@PirateWench

No... it can't be medicated away, but the symptoms can be mitigated. Hopefully she has whatever she needs. I am not sure what the implications are, but I know Lupus is an autoimmune d/o which probably effects... everything?

I am thinking about her... and momma. ;)

@PirateWench that sounds scary. I hope it is the milder version and she recovers quickly. I'm recovering now (as is my entire extended family including my mom) and it felt like horrible allergies, sore throat, congestion. I had chills the first night but rarely run a fever. I had headaches and congestion mostly. My mom, son and DIL got paxlovid. not sure if it helped but I'm tracking like they are without. Thought I'd share some current info because if I were in your shoes I'd be looking.

@PirateWench

Here’s hoping for a speedy and full recovery. 🤞🏻

@PirateWench I’m on plaquenil for RA. I had CoVid. I treated the symptoms, Advil, NyQuil, Robitussin. Vitamin D. I slept for two weeks, but didn’t get terribly sick with respiratory problems.

I hope she has an uncomplicated recovery.

@PirateWench Just seeing this today - I hope over the last couple of days she has started to feel better. Wishing her and you well.

@Doe Thank you my friend! The last of the remnants seem to be a sore throat, "Feels like razor blades in there mom". She sounds a little hoarse, but other than that, she is making great strides. She if up to date on all her shots, so we are praying for a full recovery. Making sure she stays hydrated and busy reading/playing videos. She wants to go back to work badly. LOL

@PirateWench I love how you mom. I have heard the sore throat is a nasty one. Being fully vaxed is going to serve her well.

@Doe @Doe @Doe I missed having parents who cared when I was a kid, my brothers' and sister raised me. I swore I would be the mom that let them have ice cream for dinner! I talked to her today (She went to Boca for snowbird season - one of her friends owns a diner), she said she's feeling a lot better.

@Doe
"I'm mostly negative today"
"As opposed to being partly positive?" I replied?
LOL The level of the virus is down quite a bit since yesterday, but still difficulty tasting and smelling.

@PirateWench “ice cream for dinner-“ .. When my kids were little we made up a holiday which we named Templeton Day - after the rat in Charlotte’s Web. We would go to the grocery store the day before and they would pick out some sugary cereal ( not normal at our house) for breakfast and something like hot dogs for lunch and for dinner they had strawberry shortcake and ice cream.And they could watch junk tv. Only rule was they had to brush their teeth.🤣 SO MUCH FUN!!
