@Pippy This is true and some of us are very sorry.
@AnnetteTRemain as it hits many hard there are so many levels of destruction.
@AnnetteTRemain I’m sorry to hear that you were failed by those who were selling their dream disguised as ancient teachings. But you are right even religion can become better with efforts to understand.
@Pippy I thought I could stay and try to change minds but the pastor and elders influence people and staying sends message this is tolerable. Or I could influence a different way by leaving so some could see not everyone supports them. I feel our pastor, who I liked, failed our community.
@AnnetteTRemain sounds to me what real Christianity to be!
@Pippy I'm not one of the dream Christians. I believe in trying to do good regardless of the outcome. I am not focused on Heaven and Hell.
@Pippy When I was atheist I was disappointed in people. When Christian I was disappointed in people. I asked myself if I followed what was popular or whether I followed the religion for the religion. I decided that I would view my spirituality as my own and others follow the path they are on. Which could change back and forth. Which is why I still consider myself to be a Christian but I view main tenet to be care about others and "do good".
