You can't keep good employees with pizza parties.

You keep them by making them feel safe.

Safe to speak up.
Safe to work comfortably.
Safe to be who they truly are.
Safe from upper management bullshit.
Safe that you will stand up for them relentlessly.

@Pepstar paying people what they are worth also makes them feel safe, because you are doing as much as you can to look out for their interests.

@Mshockley Absolutely. Throughout my working life, I always liked working for smaller companies as they seemed to value their employers more. Now I'm 60 and encountering ageism, working for under $13 an hr and just got a $.20 raise. Yeah, I feel so valued, LOL.

@Pepstar companies have a cognitive disconnect - they love to focus on the bottom line/profits as their driving motivation but if you tell them money is the driving motivation for their workforce...PEARL CLUTCHING and SHOCK
