@PatrickKay HFCS is addictive though, & makes you think that things need to be sweeter. it's a vicious spiral that leads to obesity & diabetes.
i quit buying anything with HFCS 25 years ago. now most prepackaged things are just way too sweet. when i bake, i use pre-WWII recipes, or cut the amount of sugar called for.

@PatrickKay

I bet if they marketed it as "non-GMO corn syrup" or something like that, it'd fly off the shelves. 😐

They're basically saying this is "old school" Karo and not the bad, new kind of corn syrup.

@PatrickKay

It's accurate. HFCS is corn syrup that's gone through extra processing, so this is regular corn syrup.

But, people love their woo. So do marketers. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Agatha @PatrickKay

As I noted the other day...VT irritates the PISS out of me in many ways, but real maple syrup is NOT one of them. 😆

@PatrickKay I'm old enough to remember that Log Cabin Syrup originally was packaged in a tin little log cabin, and it tasted great to a little kid like me.
