i really am just so glad they, the belongings, will finally return to their homelands.. even if they don't stay there.. they belong there. grateful.. to think they narrowly escaped being burned.. 136 years later..
@Museek Musing on what could happen to a person who knowingly burned a relic of the grieved and honored dead in order to steal valor, property - to in effect wear their skins over their own.
It's corrosive to the spirit of the person who stoops to it, as well as harming others.
It can call a deep magic. The bad sort. The kind that comes whether you were mindful or careless - if you do certain things.
The kind of juju that tends to devour the summoner.
You can tell them I said so if you like.

@AskTheDevil @Museek devil isn't wrong on this, many people don't realize that possessions that are cherished by the living do carry a bit of us when we pass on. To burn it is to bring some really bad luck and I mean really bad.
@AskTheDevil @Museek Heh, come to think of it. There were three handmade quilted teddy bears that were burned in an apartment fire quite a few years ago. That belonged to my great-great-grandmother. They were gifts to my sisters and I when we were born and the loss of something we never quite recovered from. The fire was at the apartment of a friend of mine that I was staying at for a short time and unfortunately I was unable to retrieve them before the fire happened.
