Experimenting with agar-agar fruit jelly making, it tastes lovely without any added syrup. Only four tablespoons of sugar in the heated mix and the natural sugar from the no-syrup canned peaches. #kitchenwitches #cosocooks
The plus side about this dish, as it starts to cool down. You'll see it starting to firm up and soak up what extra water is left behind from simmering on the stove, it kind of develops these neat little ripples on the top whenever it cools down. This will probably go really well with strawberry, cherry, pears, maybe even Asian pears. I've been wanting to try Asian pears with this for a while. I'm not sure how it would handle with watermelon but I am willing to give it a shot.
Taste tested and kid approved. It's got the texture of a firm fruit, jelly and very slippery against the glass. It cuts very easily and very easy to portion out for portion control. The flavor not super heavy, and it reminds me of warm soft fruit gummies but not quite as sweet. I highly recommend trying this. I might try another fruit though. Peach is good but it's not a family favorite unfortunately.
