A pleasant random player encounter in Fallout 76 just a bit ago. Queen Siri dropped by and said hi, leaving behind a stack of NukaCola Wild and some Radaway. What a nice gift and a pleasant welcome to the game! I'm still fresh to FO76, only got the pitt DLC for now, but it was nice to see that there are helpful players engaging with new folks too. #CoSoGaming
If anyone plays, I love co-op play and wouldn't mind being part of any groups or parties to play together. I don't use voice chat, so I may communicate more with emoji/emotes. I go by Paganmother for my account on there too. #CoSoGaming #Fallout76
I can't handle co-op play, but I think it would be awesome if CoSoers got together to play. I hope it happens!
@BarelyAwake I prefer a collaborative play over PVP. I don't really like PVP all that much. It's not that much fun, you know?
Oh yeah, PVP is right out. I have enough toxicity in my life.
But even co-op is hard for me. Even with my sons, sadly. It just makes me so freakin' anxious.
It's one of my many regrets.
@BarelyAwake I'm so sorry, sounds really difficult to live with, even for gaming.
It is. I even get flutters playing solo, which is weird. I watch people play on YT more than I play myself.
And I own a stupid number of games in spite of it.
@BarelyAwake hypertechicardia? I get the flutters because of my anxiety too. And I find some games are easier to play with it.
Nah. To tell the truth, I have probably allowed myself to become over-sensitized to competition, even if it's against bots.
I'm starting to combat my anxiety rather than let it direct my life. But it's a hard fight.
@BarelyAwake If it's any comfort, I find that keeping voice chat active while I'm playing a game really helps. It allows me to break away from the game materials triggering my anxiety to calm down and having friends along really helps.
@BarelyAwake I can understand that. Yeah, socializing in games can be hard at times.
@BarelyAwake @NiveusLepus On 76 there is a way that can help combat this anxiety actually. If you have friends that do play with you, set yourself to a specific role, like they can go and do combat missions while you stay at the base and build up defenses or craft materials and goods for them or attend to the farm, It's what I do with my husband and I find it really helps. It gives me something that hyper fixate on and keeps my mind off of my anxiety.
@BarelyAwake @NiveusLepus One step at a time, but this is a really good way of trying to play with others.
@PaganMother @BarelyAwake
Hey buddies! I wanted to hop in and kind of add my voice that I avoid multiplayer gaming because of social anxiety too. I'm ok playing solo, but I have a constant fear of letting team mates down or being not good or whatever, and it really kills all enjoyment.
I just wanted you to know you aren't alone in that.
