On the lighter side of my life at the moment, I've introduced my son to Roblox and pet sim games. We've been playing together for the last couple evenings and just having an absolute ball. I *might* be bringing him to play with me on Dragon Adventures, and sharing some of my more colorful hatchlings.

@PaganMother I started playing Minecraft with my granddaughter and occasionally my grandsons about 2 weeks ago. We're having a blast. It's enabling us to communicate on a level we couldn't have achieved otherwise.

@Oma_Trisha Gaming is a wonderful way to bond, and teaches you so much about what the younger generation has the potential to do, create, and imagine with the tools they have in those types of games. :D

@PaganMother @Oma_Trisha

Absolutely agree.
Music too.
I don’t always like the choices of my niece/nephew/grandkids but I do like the bonding time.

@MrsDanaD @PaganMother

It keeps me younger as well. Since I lost my husband the world has become much smaller. This is pulling me out of my shell again. The nice thing is, even if they get too loud, I can bring my laptop back here here in my room and we can keep playing.

@PaganMother my 9-year-old granddaughter absolutely slays at Minecraft. I've never seen her move so fast. I was working on building something the other day; she made herself invisible, snuck up behind me, and had an entire wall done before I could put four blocks in place. Sometimes I have to remind her to slow down and let me do it myself because I can't learn if she's doing everything for me.

@Oma_Trisha Haha yeah I've had to tell my son to stop telling me what to do since I did alpha and beta test the game before it was released to any platforms and he just stopped and stared at me for the longest before he stated "So your like Notch, wow..."
I'm sitting here internally laughing my butt off going "No baby, no, but I do know a lot about the game and how it works."

@PaganMother 🙌 my youngest is OBSESSED with Roblox and has been playing it since he was in diapers. I give a whole lot of credit to it for his success in school IRT reading, problem solving, logic, etc… it’s an excellent tool for that developing brain especially.

@bettertobend If he ever needs a safe friend to turn to on Roblox, he's welcome to add me. I have a number of younger folks I check in on and talk to in the games I frequently play, as a surrogate parental figure online.

@PaganMother thank you 🙏 I’ll see if I can get his username exactly correct and DM you soon. I do worry sometimes about him online as he’s so young and I am (due to the old damaged brain) not exactly able to keep an eye out for him on this game in particular. ❤️

@bettertobend I can totally understand that. I'm on there about two or three times a week for about half a day, usually the eastern evening hours.

@PaganMother that’s actually a good match for his activity as well. EST evenings or after school is out.

@bettertobend I'll see if I can arrange something with my son so we can have a play time for them to meet and play together. It'll be good for my 7 yr old to have someone new to interact with closer to his age.

@bettertobend Just lettme know what time he hops on in DM and his sn. I'll have my son log in with his account to join him after dinner.
