I've worked out the details with the biggest Star Wars fan in the house, and we've decided I'll be making a Star Wars nativity scene for Christmas this year.

Decorating in a family mixed with agnostics, pagans, and Christians is...an experience.

@PaganMother I just can't get into Christmas. The high commercialization, not having the family I grew up with... It makes me dread it. So I said I would try to find my Christmas spirit in creative things. We'll see how that goes.

@weirdfizz I don't blame ya. I celebrate Yuletide instead, it's a bit similar but there's other rites and practices that are included that my husband, and my son and I are all quite at home with. ^.^ It welcomes good fortune for the spring following winter, gives us a chance to say farewell to those that have passed this year, as well as time for us to let go of our woes, sorrows, and bad fortune that has come through this year.

@weirdfizz We don't complete the circle of our ceremonies and practices until a day after new years so we don't decorate, we live it.

@PaganMother Sometimes I feel kind of alone as the only pagan in the house. I like solitary practice. I am a member of a few Orders that are good for socializing when I want to discuss things. This time of year, though, I wish there were shared practices within the house. Something to bring us together through the winter.

@weirdfizz Yeah, it's something we're slowly working on with MIL, she's christian with an agnostic slant in worship.
