How will you be celebrating All Hallows? I will be celebrating this harvest holiday with my family, hopefully with a small bonfire and husk poppets bound with wishes for the coming year at the peak of All Hallows.

@PaganMother My practices for this time of year focus on ancestors. I make a small dinner to share with them at my altar, play my ukulele for them, and tell them stories of my memories with them.

@weirdfizz Ancestor work can be really hard sometimes, remember to take time to give yourself care if things become intense for you, okay? ^^

@PaganMother Thanks for the reminder! I get so caught up in planning sometimes that I forget to give myself that space.

@weirdfizz I can understand that, I try to work closely with my ancestors during this holiday as well. A lot of my practice cycles around things I learned from my wiccan mother, and adopted from other practices as I grew and shaped my own praxis. Self care is centric to spirituality however, and neglecting the self, can look poorly to the ancestors too.

@PaganMother I'm still learning not to feel guilty about self-care after years of abuse and trauma. PTSD therapy taught me a lot, but I'm still building healthier habits. Remembering that my ancestors want me to be healthy could help me with that.

@weirdfizz Yeah, I try to give myself reminders daily to take care of myself better, and give myself more room to handle emotional issues than I had in the past. This holiday it becomes centric for me to do cause I know my ancestors would want better for me and of me. I'm sure your own would wish the same. ^_^ Blessings on you, may the holiday serve you in the best way possible.

@PaganMother Thank you. I hope your own holiday practice brings blessings to you and your family, too.
