My partner and I have a lot of childhood trauma.

It's funny, we're constantly apologizing to each other for the most minimal thing.

I understand that. My husband and I come from abusive families. We had to learn to apologize, because our particular situations resulted in some selfishness (as a defense). But, we did it.

But we tell each other "thank you" for even the littlest things. We never want to take for granted the safety and compassion we've given each other.
