@Bliss
Eggnog flaviour coffee ... sounds wonderful.

MIght have to try a coffee advent calandar, different coffee each day as could be quite my thing 😀

@ChippySuave
I think the counter social is pretty good.

Although the dashboard takes a bit to get used to & stll finding our way, the no troll no messing policy appeals.

Its realy evident in the respectful tone of toots, even ones about negative viewpoints.

@Gunderground
I do think that the place SM has in society, to deny users the ability or right to create accounts, from a bot determination as final can actually be prejudicial, & possibly unfair.

Provided of course, that social acceptable norms have not been exceeded, or the free speech etc ... but also that sufficient warnings & things, which are then taken off account record after certain timeframes for clean slate etc.

@Gunderground
True, but the downside of stock traded publicly is that it can be bought out, then single entity owned, as happened with Twitter.

Much better model would be one vote, per account user ... with an exemption on dormant accounts not used within last 12 months day before any vote announcment cut off.

But thats my observation, equally, something run by an ethical individual, which does not bow to fear or favour can work too.

Elon does not fit that critera though.

@Gunderground
Or maybe your using it right now lol.

Twitter has become a cesspool of trolls & hatred ... they need to properly manage it, not just give it lip service.

That also means not banning accounts just because the bot moderator says to, as innocents are being banned from mass pile on reporting which on manual review, turns out to be false.

I just dont get the management ojective, unless contraversy increases traffic, which increases ad revenue.

@Guinness2020
I managed to get an account back this week from perm suspension, must to the frustration of the trolls that mass reported it.

Another, as I lost two of them (as I have subject separate profiles) within hours, by same people, has an appeal update, click the confirm I have control of the registered email & reply, then nothing, in limbo.

Ive been involved with anti-troll cyber protection at user group level, so seen a lot of this & its irresponsible platform management at its core.

@inconsequential
Great tip, and also its very thinking ahead if the platform can omit tags from feeds, as creates mental health separation.

Will start using hashtags, as used to use them a lot on other platforms and it does allow users to filter.

Just need to find the search box for my own feed lol.

(I am liking the feel of general posts am reading, respectfully worded grown up thought through discussion & not rant & rave)

@JohnMaun
Politicans also have real skill in deflection, by giving an answer to a totally different question than the one that was asked.

@jcalexandre_writes
Your points are ALL valid.

The odd behaviour I find with some, is they come from marginalised and targeted communities, but see fit to have a negative view of other marginalised communities (in particular, some are very anti-trans).

I find it odd, and also unacceptable to have such prejudicial views in todays society.

ALL lives matter, so does the freedom to live that life unimpeeded & without obligation to others.

@MarniDarr
Im guessing that court order that required him to seek approval from his responsible adult before he tweeted has gone away, now he owns the company.

In the old days, after an Elon Musk tweet, the stock exchange used to go into free fall.

Now he outright owns twitter ...

@Alt_Human
Regretfully, war is sometimes a necesity in order to maintain freedom, democracy or protect from genocide etc.

But in war, there are no winners, everybody looses.

I just hope that the loss of life, both millitary & civilian, and on both sides can be stopped, & those who have caused this held accountable.

Ensuring peace can also cost lives, for the conditions they operate in.

Regretfully, my personal experience & loss is from maintaining peace, but is the price to ensure.

@Guinness2020
Ive got frustraited with Twitter, accounts get perm suspension often as 1st line of dicipline, due to mass reporting & troll attacks ... & they cant set their bots to detect same accounts mass reporting.

Find it odd, esp as you have to go to appeal to get the account back.

To some, like me, social media is a lifeline to the outside world as its generally my only form of contact to others.

Providers have a moral duty to be fair, now SM is almost a right of passage & used by all.

@Guinness2020
Ive an architectural design background, so AutoCAD but I started using them when I damaged my hands from a RSI injury, and holding mice was not ideal.

Found they were just the thing, for accurate stab & go use.

Run them on standard windows, as they use a mouse driver ... only exception is now I have a 3 screen setup, thats mouse, but the pen monitor can do screen snips & just draw markups on them to put into emails exactly what I am illustrating, or commenting on drgs by others.

@Guinness2020
Yes, we have Wacom Cintiq drawing monitors we use & have done since about 2005 (pre iPad days).

We found the stylus pen easier to use than mice, as it was true drag & drop (but not the problem of big thumbs, nor mouse & needing to keep relationship ... you could just stab & go).

@Reincarnation_2
If Elon does find the need to provide a phone, bet he will just go buy out one of the existing providers.

My guess would be Nokia, as they lost their way but had the ability.

Likes of Acatel etc are too strong with a clear direction, but would also tell him no.

Heck, he might just go buy Apple if he thinks about it lol.

The old buy the company so you can fire your pain in the arse boss.

@kengordon7942643

Looking good so far, and there have been some very hospitable welcomes, with tips & links.

Liking the muted no hastle tempered content (the less drama approach)

@BlockDerFraun
Sorry, does Putin actually have a brain ... anyone checked 😂 .

Couldnt resist ... I regard him with a certain view of distain.

Have to get the hang of whats socially acceptable on this platform for views being made, as I want to behave.

Suffice to say, I was very disappointed with what he has done.

@Bliss
Thank you, have saved out the link & will need to sit down with a pot of coffee and a bit of time to have a good read of it, then play.

The be kind, self care / mutual care is what appeals to me most about the platform.

Fed up of Toxic SM, have battled too long protecting others in need & need a bit of respite myself tbh, and hoping CS will enable that along with meeting new people.

@LinaPinguina
Thank you, I think I will, as I did meet a number of CS users on Twitter and the outcome of that was that I was very interested in CS, as a eutopia and "the promised land" lol.

@inconsequential
Thank you, Im moving over from Twitter ... as had enough of the twits tbh, and the counter social no idiot policy acutally sounds very appealing.

But as I am politically active (mainly British social issues), I know to keep that to Twitter, and my CS profile clean & behaved ... plus, its a mental health sancturay / content separation.

Being honest, need the mental health separation, and CS may be exactly whats required.

CounterSocial is the first Social Network Platform to take a zero-tolerance stance to hostile nations, bot accounts and trolls who are weaponizing OUR social media platforms and freedoms to engage in influence operations against us. And we're here to counter it.
