So I'm having to reconsider the trip to see my sister-in-law and her husband. Getting a flight is no problem. However, the rental car is another matter entirely. I haven't rented a car since 2019, when it was less than half the cost it is today. It would run me $600 to rent a car for 6 days. I could drive there and back on half that much money if my leg would tolerate it, which I seriously doubt. It's 18 hours each way, which is quite a drive.
We're going to send them a care package instead.

I found it from my sister-in-law tonight that her husband has dementia. She is an incredibly kind, caring woman, and I may find myself breaking my self-imposed ban on flying to go up to New York and see her. Dementia is a bitch; I know it's a hard road to walk. I remember how much it helped when my daughter would stop by while my husband was sick, even if she couldn't stay long. They never had kids, and her only surviving sibling lives in Australia.

My 22 mg edibles haven't been working effectively enough, so tonight I got into the bag that has 4 mg edibles in it and ate 7 of them. If that doesn't kick my ass, I'll eat a couple more. I'm done with this up all night shit.
