The only books that the Orange Man has read are books by Hitler, Nixon, and Reagan … and his own, of course (even though he didn't write it) …

@OldCountryDoctor @grapho @LiberalLibrarian I doubt he ever read "his own" books. They existed to sell and flash his name around. He probably didn't care what they said.

@OldCountryDoctor I think you are being generous that he has ever read any book outside primary school requirements.

@Thumprhare

this is a good point: it seems quite clear that he has a severe learning disability [maybe dyslexia]. when he was a boy, though, that was poorly diagnosed [if at all] and so he was beaten for it, and shipped off to military academy.

who knows what childhood traumas he is still working out to this day. and i mean, sure, everyone has childhood traumas – but the rest of us don't take them out on the entire nation.

@OldCountryDoctor @RationalLeft @LiberalLibrarian

@grapho oh I wasn’t referring to dyslexia…all my kids, all 4 of them have severe dyslexia. It used to piss me off when people would make fun of him for his inability to read becasue there are plenty of other reasons to give him shit. I meant mroe it was generous to assume he has enough insight, curiosity, or intellect to want to read *including audio books in my mind*

I just think he is a waste of oxygen, w/ a trifecta personality disorder. @OldCountryDoctor @RationalLeft @LiberalLibrarian

@grapho I would diagnose him (and there is plenty of public data to glean from imo) primary as a malignant NPD bc of the NPD and ASPD with a sprinkling of Schizotypal for funsies. I think the overriding theme is the malignant narcissism, tho. My 2 cents tho. I don’t think he has BPD, bc he doesn’t care enough about what others think of him beyond how is transactionally effects him.

@grapho I am also assuming he is significantly below avg cognitive function but that would require actual testing. To clarify, I am saying that outside and separate of any Learning differences.

@Thumprhare @grapho @RationalLeft @LiberalLibrarian
My professional opinion: is a Machiavellian narcissistic sadistic psychopath (what is also called informally in the psychology literature as the evil tetrad = dark triad plus sadism). My training included psychiatry, not clinical psychology. Other professional opinions may differ.

_ neurology student here, I don't have @OldCountryDoctor 's qualifications but I see a lot of classic symptomology for frontotemporal dementia here and have wondered if that could not also be a factor.

@LordSpenserRoberts not sure what you mean by neurology student per se….but his father had it, and it may be a factor. It certainly will be later on…but I don’t want to give that ass any excuse to be found not competent to stand trial. @OldCountryDoctor @grapho @RationalLeft @LiberalLibrarian

@LordSpenserRoberts I guess, the term threw me. Neuroscience student. Or neurology resident. I put the term neurology immediately into the specialty in medicine—don’t mind me, I am tired and apparently becoming a curmudgeon. Lol
@OldCountryDoctor @grapho @RationalLeft @LiberalLibrarian

@LordSpenserRoberts fwiw, I would LOVE to see the results of the mini mental that they gave 45 when he was in office, and good clock drawing from him…but he doesn’t strike me in the throes of FTD (yet). I always worry when it’s brought up, that it will eventually be used by someone to excuse is PD…

I worry also that ppl remain so focused on preventing him from running and miss the line up of miscreants that are smarter and w/o impulsivity, waiting in the wings. But who are still fascists

@Thumprhare @LordSpenserRoberts @grapho @RationalLeft @LiberalLibrarian
In any case, neuroscience and neurology are very closely related and depend on each other. BTW, many of us here, including myself, are curmudgeons! Curmudgeons of the world UNITE! ✊ 👊 💪

@LordSpenserRoberts @Thumprhare @grapho @RationalLeft @LiberalLibrarian
Having personality disorders (including the worst combinations of those) does not, in fact, rule-out physiological changes that can also occur, particularly with increasing age. Those I cannot assess without medical imaging and a thorough neurological examination. None of these, however, are excuses for having an absolutely dreadful so-called "personality". should face the consequences of his actions nonetheless.

@OldCountryDoctor I think people often try to give him sor of pass for the idea of a comorbid condition…have you seen enough to render FTD impactful to this point? I have not. My guess given his family history he is at higher risk….but his driver is PDs and as you said he needs to be held accountable . Period.

@LordSpenserRoberts @grapho @RationalLeft @LiberalLibrarian

@OldCountryDoctor yeh, I am like “NOPE that guy is totally competent to be held accountable” the willingness to give him some sort of mental health pass is beyond me
@LordSpenserRoberts @grapho @RationalLeft @LiberalLibrarian

@Thumprhare @LordSpenserRoberts @grapho @RationalLeft @LiberalLibrarian
All I can say is that better not happen and he MUST face ALL of the consequences of ALL of his actions … (Little bit of shouting here)

@grapho he has A LOT in common with Hitler as far as abuse by his father and attachment to his mother. Doesn’t excuse it — the the parallellels in their upbringing is creepy….except Trump had money.
