All of the album was written and performed by Shiroishi who sang and played alto, baritone, tenor, C melody, and soprano saxophones, stacking up layers of harmonies often each recorded in one take.

@corlin That made me think of the books written by Joy Kogawa who was sent, as a child, to one here in BC along with her family. Highly recommended if you haven't read her before - start with Obasan (Grandmother)
