Cities around the globe are increasingly experiencing dangerous heat as urban concrete and asphalt amplify rising temperatures. Tree-planting programs are a popular, nature-based way to cool cities, but these initiatives have been largely based on guesswork and extrapolation. @corlin also either paint roofs white or if flat turn them into gardens (and provide funding to help with adding structural support if needed.

@NorthernInvader

Trees cool cities, about 4 times better than painting roofs.

If you paint every roof white, compared to a full grown tree every 20 meters.

@corlin I was suggesting doing both and the gardens as well :)
