@NorthernInvader They just grew wild where I grew up in New York, about 70 miles north of NYC. I still remember the first time I saw blackberries for sale in a supermarket and laughed that people would actually pay for them.
@MakerWerks I grew up in South Vancouver in the 50s and they were everywhere there, same on Lulu island on the Fraser river. Acres of vines
@MakerWerks I left in 1997 and moved to the West Kootenays. I loved the Vancouver of the 50s and 60s but then the developers took over council and it was downhill from that point on.
@NorthernInvader Yeah, back in the 80s the Austin City Council was all about keeping Austin green. At some point after all the tech cash started to collect here, the council was still all about the green. It was just the kind of green that greased palms and lined pockets.
