Over 9,000 people are dead in Palestine and Israel. A child in Gaza is being killed every 10 minutes. This is absolute madness and it is getting worse. As Israel's closest ally, the American president holds the key to a ceasefire that would prevent thousands more from dying -- sign this urgent call for peace and we'll deliver it to President Biden and in media across the world:
as of this post 782,887 have signed.

Not to their families.
@ATXJane @NorthernInvader I get it, I do, but one can say the same about nearly every death that occurs on the face of this planet (with a few obvious exceptions).
As horrible as might seem to bring up, that's not a distinguishing factor.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not devoid of empathy - but I realize the amount of death here's small enough that, rationally speaking, it shouldn't be anywhere near the top of the priority list... & that's just sheer quantity, other factors say the same.
@IrelandTorin @NorthernInvader
I hear what you’re saying. I respect rationality. And I appreciate you recognized I was speaking from my heart in response to the rationality. It’s a viewpoint I try to nurture.
@NorthernInvader. The matter is completely complicated. I believe Biden is doing everything he can. Biden's hands are tied. Remember the Republicans did not have a Speaker of the House and now that they do they are not in any hurry to approve Biden's call for help ($$). Also, Tuberville has been holding up military promotions. We should all blame the Republicans.
@SeekWhatsRight @NorthernInvader I blame the whole messy, corrupt lot of them, that either don't get things done, or get things done that go against our interests.
And while Republicans are so terrible that they make almost anyone else look good, I've also watched Democrats at work for years too, and I don't see good results. Lots of excuses, but not good results.
@SeekWhatsRight @NorthernInvader I can think of a way to see for sure though!
All we have to do is vote Republicans out of office!
: )
I think we can all get behind that!
@NorthernInvader TBH I don't think that number is a huge deal.
For perspective, about 10.1 million people die yearly from PM2.5 pollution alone. That's about one death every 3 seconds.
About 10 million people die yearly from cancer. That's also about one death every 3 seconds.
About 1.6 million people die every year from tuberculosis. That's about one death every 20 seconds.
About 620k people die yearly from malaria. That's about a death every 50 seconds.
9k is a drop in a vast ocean.
