I have had way too many male MDs treat me like this. It’s common that they see you as bordering on hysteria rather than an adult who knows what’s happening with their body.
I very often request a female Dr. my PCP has been a woman for decades. Trust them much more as they KNOW from the inside out what I’m talking about.
There is much disrespect of patients in medicine.
@NorCalCherylLyn I have also from all genders, but mostly male doctors. I was concerned about the GI doc, that he was going to shrug and dismiss me, but he didn't, and it was surprising.
I struck gold with my PCP, thankfully, and now my entire family sees her also, lol. A good one that cares is hard to find.
@SmirkingRaven when you find one you keep them if you can! I dread the annual insurance changes and what that might do to the team I’ve found. But I’ve learned that since they’re a federal rural tribal clinic I’ll probably never have to switch offices. I just have to keep everyone from retiring… 😃
