I live in a very Red district in a very Blue State. I was looking for places to move to and I was specifically looking for predominately Dem areas. Probably staying put as family is here and the State politics are more important to my life than County. I totally understand the tribal urges but decided bring a thorn in my GOPer neighbors side was good too.

@NorCalCherylLyn

Same here in Illinois. The Red Hats are constantly in an uproar about wanting to secede from Chicago. But the following article from 2020 explains why such a move would be devastating for downstate residents. chicagomag.com/news/october-20

@WaevetSmaevets sounds like they need to move to Idaho. What they get freaked out about is so much bullshit it’s embarrassing! 🤦🏻‍♀️

@NorCalCherylLyn Same as here in CA. The right cost this state millions when they tried to recall Newsom. An election that lasted all of 11 minutes that once the count reached Los Angeles was completely pointless. I’ve never forgiven them for it. They live in pockets, a lot of them in the north and central parts of the state and then you have the riche maga, like costal OC and Beverly Hills. The way I feel about it is, if they feel the state isn’t representative to them, then leave. Bye.

@Redskye572 I live in Placer County outside Sacramento and they’ve never elected a Dem. They elected Tom McClintock for crying out loud!! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

@dauphin87 @Redskye572 seems the only way to Blue up this area is to lose the rural was we love. 😩

@NorCalCherylLyn All they do is complain and it really grinds the gears. Then you’ve got far right coming into liberal parts of the state and causing a ruckus in school districts. My friend used to work for Glendale Unified (she’s a retired teacher) and as she told me, those protestors who went over there didn’t even have kids in the district.

@Redskye572 the very first thing needed to speak at a school district meeting is to prove that you at least live in the district! You should have a kid or gkid enrolled but being a resident is required for sure.

@NorCalCherylLyn Agreed. She told me that the parents were getting incensed by the homophobia and transphobia that these out of district trouble makers were causing. Glendale is fairly dem, large Armenian population and of the belief that you don’t mess with other people’s kids. I agree.

@Redskye572 it’s a disturbing pattern that they only care about perceived “bad” in others and ignore the branch in their own eye. It really creeps me out that they spend so much time focused on other people’s intimate lives and decisions. It’s sooooo weird! 🤪

@NorCalCherylLyn It's very similar where I live in WA state. My county is mostly red but it's changing. Not fast enough for me tho!😺

@Catzly ours is changing too…but mostly because they’re back on a building boom. That brings more Bay Area people and their version of “rural living”. It’s a toss up… 🤷🏻‍♀️

@NorCalCherylLyn In my area, we are getting folks from over the mountains from Seattle vicinity. They tend to vote democratic. That's a win for us here in red county. My suburban town has a boom in housing as well. The side streets are busier than they've ever been. Hubs and I want to move to a more rural area for more quiet again. 😺

@Catzly my hubby and I are right there with you. It’s still rural but they are again building tens of thousands of houses. I love that people want to enjoy being more rural but confused by their needing it to look just like where they left first. 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
