@MLClark @BosmangBeratna Thats a remarkable parallel to what's going on in russia. They are starting to stagflate as they are wholly dependent on their military complex atm.
@CinnamonGirlE I'm so glad you're doing ok after all that! You mater buddy. I care about you. ^_^
I was watching an analysis of the Hezbollah Conflict this morning and their conclusion was N, who is deeply unpopular now in Israel, has nothing left to lose, and so if he can drive the Hezbollah conflict to some kind of victory condition he goes from having no political future to a slim chance of one.
@CinnamonGirlE How did the storm effect you? Are you doing ok on that front?
@MichaelRLaverty Grief can sometimes bring out the worst in people.
I'm sorry to hear you've had this struggle while working to remember a loved one.
@CinnamonGirlE There's also a renegade pride that my eccentric self survived this place intact. ^_^
@CinnamonGirlE That's very much how I feel about being a Texan. In so many ways I am not a default texan but I'll always be from here.
@CinnamonGirlE My Grandfather, int he 50s, briefly sold furnaces, and was sent into deep woods appalachia to verify for a service call.
After a couple hours navigating backroads he finally made it out to the small cabin in the woods only to find that the front yard was full of men with shotguns.
My grandfather was wearing a black suit and tie, common for the era, and they had apparently been watchign for a time.
"Don't worry about her furnace, Revenuer. We'll see her through the winter."
@tyghebright @MLClark Well that's a total mood.
@CinnamonGirlE When I met them, back in 2013, the tattoos and my general oddness took them back a step, but Jesse just explained that I was from the west coast, and it became the default answer for everything.
"You don't eat meat?"
"I"m a vegan"
THey'd look one to the another nod and say..." She's from California"
It still makes me chuckle.
@CinnamonGirlE My partner, Jesse, is from Waynesville. He's the second generation "Off the mountain"
Ive met some of his family from that area and they are a remarkably resilient and industrious folk. They are also highly mistrusting of anything government which I wonder if it will hamper the federal response.
@wolfwoman Good morning Wolfie!
How's your heart today?
@CinnamonGirlE There are a few spots on the pacific crest trail where resupply packages get shipped in by horse trains. VVR is like that, and I passed a few as I trekked north.
Appalachia has taken one hell of a hit, but I know they are a very strong and resilient folk out there that have always been very keen to do for themselves.
@wolfwoman You will always be my family!
