@LnzyHou @wolfwoman @AskTheDevil @Smccune55 I know Wolfwoman and have met her personally. She's the kind of soul that will drive 3 hours just to chat.

I also feel like I've gotten to know you pretty well. In my opinion you've only gotten better with time. I didn't know you then, but I know you now and it's a true privilege.

I can say the same about @Vozy There are many good boomers in the world!

@Museek This is a shameful part of this country's history. It was cultural genocide, plain and simple.

"we see the things themselves, in their places, where they are,

according to their being which is indeed more than their being perceived,

at the same time we are separated from them by all the thickness of the look and of the body;

this distance is not the contrary of this proximity, it is deeply consonant with it,

the thickness of flesh between the seer and the thing is constitutive for the thing of it visibility,

it is not an obstacle between them,

it is their means of communication."

@Agatha I, too, am very ADHD! I was diagnosed when I was six, and I too often have to jangle keys in front of that part of my mind.

@Zevon Birdsong is a truly rad choice! I put on very atmospheric music, or nature sounds as well.

@Zevon I have noise cancelling headphones. Praise the Gods!

You remind me of my Buddhist practice. Every moment is unique. They never come again.

People think of death and rebirth as one moment, but its really everyday. Everyday everything dies as we know it, every morning it is born again changed.

We are born again each day, ever building on who we were.

I watch a lot of youtube and listen to a lot of music, but something that has intrigued me as I've visited my parents is how the TV is always on, and often on the news.

Dad will be on his ipad, Mom on her phone, with the news, or GMA or Today playing constantly in the background.

As someone that normally spends time in quiet, or with curated content, it's like a culture shock, and somewhat distracting.

@wolfwoman @AskTheDevil @LnzyHou @Smccune55 A lot of California is like that. The Rad and Groovy peaked in the 60's and 70s, and now you can see the evidence of that radical wave (To borrow from Thompson) but like all things, those times will never come quite the same way again.

I believe that people tend to develop pararelationships with political figures that they believe our on their side.

They then ascribe loyalties and qualities to them based on them feeling like they have a personal connection.

Pararelationships are not healthy relationships. They are imaginary and one-sided.

@AskTheDevil @LnzyHou @wolfwoman @Smccune55

We should meet up and head out there. Not only would it be rad to hang out, we could redeem the name. Kind of like a palette cleanser for your brain.

@AskTheDevil @LnzyHou @wolfwoman @Smccune55

I think of Santa Cruz. It's a groovy town with a neat restaurant that has vegan milkshakes and pancakes.

@LowEndMuse @PaigeK I'm so relieved to hear she is better and being discharged! I hope and pray for her swift recovery.
