I got my replacement new computer today. System 76 Meerkat. Turns out the the original had a bad SSD controller. A trace (or something) was intermittently failing. They replaced it without cost. It boots, but I have not yet set it all up. I will run Ubuntu 'cinnamon' on it.

My plan is to be 'Apple', 'Microsoft' and 'Google' free !!

Well after many days of messing around, my second version of a new computer is also not usable. System 76 Meerkat. No sound output. And man I did everything to try and fix this.

So this Meerkat is getting returned, and my money back. Sad because they have a good reputation online. But two hardware failures, and I am out.

I think System 76 has some OEM problems.

On to something new.

@corlin System 76 is a great concept but their supply chain is very tight,and much of their hardware based on cleo laptops. Which isn't the worst thing in the world, but I had issues with my lemur, and an even harder time getting parts.
