@NiveusLepus oh yeah
we had botched efforts too with the Red Cross. The whole reason I ended up helping a mute man was because the Red Cross lost him and I found him. The Red Cross is not as good as some of the other organizations in my opinion. WCK and Samaritans purse were ON it. Red Cross got a slow start but self corrected. The county was not prepared and we volunteered to act as an info hub which we weren’t prepared for either but we made it happen quickly. It’s chaos after a disaster.
@NiveusLepus glad to hear some are ok in your circles. You are welcome. I saw a lot of disinfo and am just posting to counter that.
@Museek It's helpful. He was sharing a lot of the disinfo because it was the news he had, and he's got ample reason to be mistrustful, not to mention he's from Appalachia, second generation off the mountain.
Being able to give him that counterpoint is going to help him a lot so I am truly grateful
@NiveusLepus tell him to call his state representative directly.. if he can. Very Informative. That’s how I was able to help get things straight with Buzz (the mute man) I was helping during our wildfires.
@Museek The thing is, he and I both remember Katrina. We were both Truckers drivers then, and we remember how botched the relief effort was in places so the idea that it was botching again is easy to believe.
