@LnzyHou You think America is "waking up" ??
@LnzyHou @MidnightRider The dawn always comes
There is so much that is bleak right now, but hope shines like stars in the sky. We have all these people, scared yes, concerned definitely, but we all care, we're all focused, and we are all together.
That, to me, is reason for joy in the night.
@NiveusLepus @LnzyHou
Given we are living finite lives, the peaks and troughs of the wave the politicians exploit and foist upon all of us can mean some people miss that dawn. The GOP and Christians never seem to learn. You can only plunge and compact a cannon so much before you explode another Woodstock, just a matter of time before all of these folks face the title wave of rejection but I'll probably be gone. At least I saw it as a cub.
@MidnightRider @LnzyHou Something that has helped me cope is the pendulum theory. My Dad raised me with it.
Society swings between extremes of conservative and liberal, with each swing, things move a little further forward, and then some of that distance is given back, but there is always some progress remaining.
We seem to be on a back swing, and as a minority person (LBTQIA+) it's terrifying, but I also have hope it is temporary, and in the allies that stand with me.
@NiveusLepus @LnzyHou I agree with this but all of us die and depending on when that happens in relation to the swing, some people die in a less free country. That makes me angry but there's nothing I can do about it. I'm confident I'll die in a less free country than I grew up in. 100%
@MidnightRider @NiveusLepus @LnzyHou
Agreed.
You know who I’ve felt sorry for? All those early Resistance folks in interacted with that never lived to see Trump lose in 2020.
So yes, perishing during the backwards swing is horrifying.

@Anouk @MidnightRider @NiveusLepus @LnzyHou Not a day goes by that I don't think of what my late wife Nancy would have thought of everything that has transpired since she left this world in April of 2020. Here we are the day after TFG was sworn in. Two steps forward, two steps back it seems to me.
@Anouk @altucker @MidnightRider @LnzyHou I’m honored that you would share her journey and stand with you as you mourn her loss. May we each learn and be inspired by the example she left for us.
