For those posting the constant barrage of "Go Vote" posts -- do you really think that's doing anything other than making noise?
I mean, does anyone really think there's someone sitting there today who sees that and says "oh...crap...I hadn't realized that was today. I should go vote!" 'Cuz that's pretty much all you could possibly be after at this point -- those who decided not to vote have long since made that decision, you're not changing anything.
@Nikto I know from personal experience that persistence can change minds. A turn of phrase, a chance topic broached, a discussion that makes a seemingly abstract issue more personal.
I have changed minds on election day.
I strongly believe what I say - every vote matters. I'm in North Carolina, so my blue votes may get drowned, but they are still important. If we can move that needle 0.1% in the right direction this time, we can have a positive impact on next time.
@everyman Strongly disagree - constant repetition of the same thing is not going to change anybody's mind at the last minute. If anything, it's going to detract from exactly what you're after.
@Nikto I hear you, and I respect your perspective. We will have to agree to disagree.
I see your point, but respectfully disagree.
if you think of this as a team effort than I think it does make sense, other wise, why go to a baseball, basketball, football, hockey match and root on your team?
There's all sorts of situations people are in life-wise that may make it hard for them and they do need encouragement to give their all if they're going to get to their polling place.
Some of these races are razor tight and people need encouragement.
@Nikto actually there are people out there who need a reminder for everything
