Hi @singlemaltgirl Well, that's where is gets complicated. We have a friend who likes to hunt. A couple years ago he had a chance to hunt bear in Alaska. But it was a fall hunt and the bear had been eating lots if Salmon roe. So the meat tasted strongly of Salmon eggs. He and his wife couldn't eat it because they don't like fish. So we got a bunch of ground bear-fish as we call it. So I used that, potatoes and onions with salt, marjoram, rosemary and sage. It was very tasty. 😀

@SunAcrossWater It's replaced ice cream in my life. My typical night time snack is 12 oz greek plain non-fat, 2 oz jam and 1 or 2 oz muesli or granola. Mix well. Freeze or eat chilled. It's awesome.

@Halcyon Dampness. Too much water may rot their roots if the water can't drain away. One place I've never seen them grow well is around ponds and other saturated areas. Hillsides all over the place, but not near the creek beds so much. Not sure what you should do about blood mites. Don't think we have those here in the pacific NW. Aphids sure, but not those. Our humidity is pretty low too except when it rains. 😂

@Halcyon Three things to ensure: firm well drained soil, direct sun at least 6 hours a day, and soaking the seeds before planting may help germination (seeds can be tough.) Sort of anecdotal, I'm in the NW US and the wild varieties are like weeds when on volcanic soil. Like roses the seem to do better with a slightly acidic PH.Good luck!
