I also read the Wikipedia article on "Forrest Gump", and I'm glad I've never watched it.

It's a social comment on the politics of a competely different era that most people under the age of 40 won't grok, and no one under 20. It's okay that young people don't watch it. They don't have the life experience to relate. It's not for them.
