Today a trans friend of mine held on for a hug longer than she usually does. She then began to cry into my shoulder and choked “Thank you that you at least try to understand me”.

It broke my heart. I just want to scream “People are suffering! People you love are suffering! Stop buying into the rhetoric that dehumanizes good people!”.
