During WW2 Russia did exactly this with these central Asian populations. They were part of the USSR, but the Russians did not trust them with a gun. @ArmyMomTrish it’s hybrid warfare. It’s a thing since the Cold War. During the 1990s they mostly took a break, but starting in 2002 they started again.
It really took off after 2014. And it’s toxic to the nth degree. It can be disarmed and defeated. But it requires constant work.
#nafo has been very effective in the bird app, to the frustration of Russia.
