Midwest Tornado Risk Today
A level 3 out of 5 enhanced risk of severe weather has been drawn by the Storm Prediction Center in the Midwest. Much of the region is at risk for damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes. MyRadar meteorologist Matthew Cappucci has an update.

Midwest Severe Risk Tuesday
A level 2 out of 5 slight risk of severe weather, which may be upgraded, has been drawn by the Storm Prediction Center for Tuesday. It includes areas from St. Louis to Chicago toward Detroit and Indianapolis. A couple tornadoes possible. Meteorologist Matthew Cappucci has an update.

Dangerous Fire Weather Today
An elevated to critical risk of wildfire blankets much of the Plains and Corn Belt. Red Flag Warnings are in effect from Iowa to the Mexican border. Blustery winds, hot weather and low humidity will make a recipe for wildfires. MyRadar meteorologist Matthew Cappucci has an update.

There is a growing risk of severe weather in the Tuesday/Wednesday timeframe in association with a major jet stream dip that will be rolling across the Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys.
Storms may last into the evening though and perhaps toward midnight Tuesday night due to a peak in CAPE potentially coming after dark.
There could be a few more storms over the Tennessee Valley on Wednesday, particularly if storms are able to continue overnight, but confidence in that is low.
For now, Tuesday is the day where we're more confident in severe weather.

A level 3 out of 4 red zone moderate risk for flash flooding and excessive rainfall has been drawn by the National Weather Service for Los Angeles and Ventura Counties too. Atmospheric River Closing In on California
Another atmospheric river is about to strike California. Heavy rainfall, significant mountain snow, gusty winds and even a tornado or two will be possible. MyRadar meteorologist Matthew Cappucci has a special Sunday night update.
A quick-moving clipper system will bring some snow to the Mid-Atlantic late Friday night into the predawn hours Saturday.
Here's a first stab at how much snow could fall:
Wisconsin just saw their FIRST February tornado on record.
Climate changed did demonstrably play a role, as off-season severe events are being increasingly fed by anomalously warm weather.
Northeast Snowstorm Update
A quick-moving snowstorm is plastering the coastal Northeast with a plowable snowfall, with up to a foot possible in some spots. The snow is increasing in intensity in southern New England but winding down to the west. Matthew Cappucci has an update.
