This is what happens when a 17 year old dog is DONE hiking.
AND I MEAN DONE!!!! We were at 10,400 foot elevation also, might have had something to do with it.
@MrsBentoBako Been there. My family used to terrorize the whole 395 corridor from Ridgecrest to Red's Meadow once or twice a summer and/or fall season when we lived in Sandy eggo.
@MrsBentoBako 10K feet? Yeah, unless that fine ol doggo is in great cardio-vascular condition, that's gonna take a toll. I took my young GSD up to Timberline Trail on Mt Hood, and after about an hour it seemed we both decided we weren't ready for this, even though I think we were both having a pretty good hike. I could tell we were both feeling better after coming downhill a bit.
I love doggo hikes though, I really think Chasqui does too.
