And light skinned Blacks often feel that dark skinned Blacks get special treatment, because they're viewed as less threatening to Whites. Being called "yellow" is a serious insult.
It's bizarre, and few seem to question who benefits when Blacks are dividing themselves light against dark, descendants of slaves vs descendents of recent immigrants, Hispanic vs non-Hispanic, etc.

Hollywood does incredible makeup these days. That could be the compromise. Makeup, and still get the best possible actor. There’s a news anchor with vidaligo, he did a pictorial on his makeup for TV.
I’m not commenting on the point, because I’ve never walked in their shoes. I’ve no right to criticize nor belittle their feelings without having inside knowledge.
