When I was a baby, they considered operating on my nasal passages because they were afraid they were too narrow.

I sometimes breathe through my mouth 'cause it doesn't take much to partially block my nose, making it hard to get enough air through it. Sometimes, breathing through my nose, I have to suddenly gulp for air every couple of minutes.

Interestingly, using a CPAP has helped with this, and I mouth-breathe far less now. I guess the pressure opens my passageways.
