Use an extension when performing internet searches. Most internet browsers allow a user to add extensions, including extensions that block advertisements. These ad blockers can be turned on and off within a browser to permit advertisements on certain websites while blocking advertisements on others.

@MrGoat
For my browsers, I use a combination of "NoScript" and "uBlock Origin". Some pages take a bit for me to load, but it's better than the alternative.

@MrGoat
I use Firefox and have:
Decentraleyes
Startpage Privacy Protection
Privacy Badger
Ad Block Plus
Ghostery
uBlock Origin
Malwarebytes Browser Guard
Disconnect

Those are just some of the extensions I've got installed

@MrGoat
I use the Ghostery extension for this, and it HAS absolutely cut down in the number of ads inflicted on me, as well as tracking cookies.

Sometimes interferes with 3d party widgets on a specific site or page, so have to whitelist it to log in or whatever, but that's also easily accomplished.

Recommend!

@MrGoat
Don't use Google Search very often and lock it down if you have to.

@MrGoat usually always use an adblocker and turn on and off when I want for certain sites.
