The mangalsutra my husband gave me on our wedding day. We have had a lot of ups and downs the last few years. And we have learned that marriage is never easy but always worth it. Wearing it with pride today, along with the bangles that were his mother’s and will one day be our daughter’s.

Sewing this morning. Making neck length heat wraps to give as gifts to the some work friends I’ll be saying goodbye to in a couple weeks.

I did end up going to PT today. Therapist did some deep tissue work & I can barely tolerate my bra strap on my right upper trapezius. A few hours after PT, I saw my neurologist who proceeded to do trigger point injections in the same area.
While I look less tense than I have in years (because the muscle is visibly less inflamed) I feel like someone used a meat tenderizer hammer on my neck and shoulder.

Also for unrelated reasons, I need to fire my neurologist

This is a skateboard food delivery robot designed by the cutest kid ever. And it’s technical illustration. ☺️

A coworker/friend texted. She saw this and thought of me.

She’s not wrong. 😏

Unless it’s my child, husband, or parents… well, the picture says it all.

For me, it’s a Liberty Nickel minted in 1908. I found it in 2013 on a bus ride home from work. Picked it up and kept it since.

It’s only worth about eight bucks, but it boggles my brain to think about holding something that someone else held in 1908. At that time my nickel could have purchased a loaf of bread, a ticket to ride an urban trolley, a glass of draft beer or a seat in a movie theater.

My work bestie got me a cookie cake for my birthday (on Tuesday) because she knew my power was out and I had to throw away everything in my fridge. We sliced it this afternoon on our nursing unit and I even had some left to bring home for my kiddo. So if my power is still out by Wednesday, at least I will have had a bit of birthday cake.

I am for the kindness.

I am overwhelmed, moved to tears. My heart is in my throat, strangling me with honor I don’t deserve.

A patient just presented me with his own military challenge coin. Told me I have helped saved his life. I’m not a doctor or nurse. I’m a front desk, weekend health unit coordinator.

I’m shaking. I’m shattered. I’m honored beyond effective words.

Nostalgia from my high school days. I never played an instrument, but I marched in the band. I was a faker, and filled in vacant spots in the show. Most of the time I was a faux flautist. Other times I was a pseudo-saxophonist.

Well, I caved to the wishes of a 5yr old.

She is conflicted on naming her though. Coco, Tiki, Rosita, Melody…

Good morning, !

Several People Are Typing by Calvin Kasulke is witty, bizarre, and exactly what I needed after finishing Zero Days by Ruth Ware yesterday.

The almond milk mocha is just the icing on the cake.
